Sarah Burris received her Master of Fine Arts (2008) and Master of Library and Information Science (2013) degrees from Kent State University. She is both an artist and a librarian. The collage source images are found from books that are damaged or in poor condition. Sarah often seeks out the garish print quality of images from the 70s. The primary source materials in this collection have been floral plates, mushrooms, vintage mystery book covers, and houses. The additional materials include watercolor and glitter.  She has always strived to find a balance between the beautiful and the grotesque; exploring the meaning of what it is to be feminine.
